A native of Scottsdale, Ariz., Stacy Coleman remembers spending most of her youth thinking, creating and drawing. She recalls a moment of clarity one day after high school that brought her to the decision to study animation in college. She graduated in 2001 from The Art Institute of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts and Animation. After moving to California to “make it big,” she soon realized she didn’t want a career in the field she studied in college.
After a few years of jumping from one retail job to another, she decided to go back to the beginning, back to her original inspiration: thinking, creating and drawing. Next thing you know, she’s back in school. This time, however, she was a little older and a little wiser. She knew what her goals were, and with a clear mind, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute in 2006. Since then, she has been busy working as a graphic designer for a Phoenix firm and doing freelance design on the side.
All and all, Stacy’s journey has been fulfilling; she looks forward to many more years of creating and executing innovative ideas and designs.
Stacy’s Motto: The world is your cereal bowl. Fill it with everything you can.
